Voting takes place in the all-purpose room at Killingworth Elementary School, 340 Route 81. The voting entrance is on the north side of the school.

Candidates are listed on a sample ballot which is posted in the voting place. An election official will explain voting procedures to you if necessary.

The Registrar of Voters Office is located at the Town Offices, 232 Route 81.

To Register to Vote in Killingworth YOU MUST:

  • Be a United States Citizen;
  • Be a bona fide resident of this town (A bona fide resident is one whose fixed home is in the town in which they apply and to which home or town they intend to return when they are temporarily absent.);
  • Be at least 17 years old (you can vote when you turn 18)
  • Have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a felony and have had your voting rights restored by Registrar.

Absentee Ballot Applications - may be obtained from the Town Clerk's Office at the Town Offices. Telephone: 663-1616. The Town Offices are open: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 12 noon, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The form may also be downloaded from the Secretary of State's website.

Any registered voter may vote by absentee ballot under the following circumstances - if they are in the active service of the armed forces of the United States, absent from town during all of the hours of voting, illness, physical disability, religious tenets which forbid secular activity on the day of the election, primary or referendum.
